Newsletter No. 2 - April 2004

Meeting Saturday 17 April at 2.00pm

The mini meeting for April will take place on the third Saturday of the Month rather than the second, due to Easter.

The meeting will take place at the Festival Hall. Meet at the entrance on the mezzanine level (near the bookshop). A plan which is attached.

For those not able to go to the April convention this will be an opportunity to see and fold models from the convention pack. And if you did attend; obtain assistance if you are having difficulties with any models in the pack.

March meeting

The March meeting began by folding a few animal models including a swimming fish by Larry Hart. A new model of a canue was then tought by Robin Glynn who distributed diagrams for people to take away. Quentin Trollope was attending the meeting for the first time and showed some of his own designs including a 3D dolfin, a skull and the Scream which features in the latest issue of BOS magazine. The meeting ended with a disussion about the London Origami CD Rom project which is intended to incorperate London members work, thoughts and insparation on Origami.

What benefit are mini meetings?

If you are a beginner it is useful to see how other people fold models.
If you are having difficulty with a model perhaps someone else can help.
We are fortunate in the London area to have a number of enthusiasts who design models; therefore a new model appears at most meetings together with diagrams.
If you design models yourself the meetings are an opportunity to test diagrams and receive feedback on your design.
Perhaps you would like to create your own models but don't know where to start - others will be able to give you some advice.
Ultimately Mini meetings are an opportunity to meet other origami enthusiasts.

We hope to see you there.

The organiser of the London meetings is Steve Brown (Tel No. is in the BOS Magazine). Any questions either ring Steve or send as a reply to this e-mail.
